I've not beeen able to install gal-2.4.2 (and other versions) on Solaris10 x86 using gcc-3.3.6 and gcc-3.4.3. libgal-2.4.a contains all needed symbols but in libgal-2.4.so some of them are missing: make allways ends as follows: > [ ... ] > gmake[2]: Entering directory '/home/src/gnome_2.10.1/dt/gal-2.4.2/tests' > [ ... ] > /usr/local/bin/bash ../libtool --mode=link gcc_3.4 ... > > Undefined first referenced > symbol in file > e_completion_end_search test-completion.o > e_completion_match_set_text test-completion.o > e_completion_match_construct test-completion.o > e_entry_get_type test-completion.o > e_entry_enable_completion_full test-completion.o > e_entry_set_editable test-completion.o > e_completion_callbacks_new test-completion.o > e_completion_found_match test-completion.o > e_entry_new test-completion.o > e_completion_get_type test-completion.o I tried it with both Sun-ld and Gnu-ld (2.16).
