Hi there! With the helpful support from #gnome-do I created a simple plugin for Gnome-Do which I call 'GenericEditor'. It simply provides the action "Open in editor" for files. The editor command can be configured and defaults to gedit (which is the standard GNOME text editor, if I'm not mistaken).
My code is based on the do-plugins/community branch and I just requested a review for merge on launchpad. Please let me know what you think and if there is anything to change/improve. Cheers!
