You need at least banshee 1.4.3, and it seems like most people need to copy
a dll around, I haven't figured out why it works for me, but not others.
banshee indexing is done over dbus, not by reading a file. You need to copy
Banshee.CollectionIndexer.dll into
~/.local/share/gnome-do/plugins-0.8.1/addins/Banshee.1.0/

Your firefox and thunderbird directories are normal, nothing wierd there.
