Thanks for your offer! We're aware that Do is not the most discoverable of applications, and want to make this better. We have a blueprint https://blueprints.edge.launchpad.net/do/+spec/doturial for a first-run tutorial; I don't think Alex is doing much work on it right now, though.
The current idea is for a somewhat game-like tutorial, where the tutorial is a local HTML document that runs through a set of basic Do tasks and interacts with the actual Do interface - eg: the tutorial continues once the user has performed the relevant action. This obviously requires some coding, and some code changes. It would be great to hear what you think a good first-run tutorial would be, include, format etc. For example, we could easily ship a first-run screencast or HTML document or GNOME help file or whatever.
