You are correct; I did not know about the Google Scholar plugin for
OpenSearch.

Nevertheless, I'd like to get this compiling since it's my first time with
the GnomeDo workflow. I chose a very simple plugin as a test case for
developing plugins and would like to do more in the future.

Furthermore, there is a LOT of demand for a Google Scholar API (see
http://code.google.com/p/google-ajax-apis/issues/detail?id=109) which could
allow a much more useful plugin (i.e. search scholar, get a BibTeX citation,
push that to a text file or a citation manager such as JabRef, Mendeley,
etc) than what I have right now.
