There is a language barrier here that we should be
aware of.
I don't know whether in the past these were called
'control applets', but all user documentation now
calls them 'preference tools'.
I know our code, our cvs folders, and so on still says
'capplets', but we should be mindful that using this
term on mailing lists and IRC precludes ordinary users
from understanding what we are talking about.
