I recall we looked at implementing the translation plugin at the time of the GNOME 3.0 release and the admins were not pleased with it in its current state. Has the plugin changed at all? Could you perhaps post a copy/archive of the code to the list and we'll see what we think? If we feel it is up to our standards we can post it, until then you may need to host / test it locally until that is the case.
