'ftpadmin install evolution-kolab-3.5.5.tar.xz' stated a NEWS diff of 4 lines
today, and that is what actually got sent to ftp-re-ease-list. See [0] for the
resulting diff and [1] for the actual diff.
There has been a 3.5.4.1 release of evolution-kolab, which fixed a build issue
after the release of 3.5.4. That release was done on a separate gnome-3.5.4
branch. This is where the confusion of the ftpadmin script may result from.
For the current 3.5.5 release, the "previous version" with respect to the NEWS
diff should have been 3.5.4, but it seems such cannot be specified when
invoking the script.
