Not sure if this is the right place to suggest such an undertaking.
GNOME users would benefit from a non-Google entity that respects privacy and
provides integration with the GNOME desktop.
Such services might include:
- email
- calendar
- syncing or backing up notes, bookmarks, etc
- account used for GNOME software ratings, recipe submissions, etc
Charging an annual fee for these services would help cover costs of this and
other projects.
It seems increasingly beneficial to the GNOME community to have access to a web
account tied to GNOME to interact with GNOME's various services and
applications which involve user accounts.
