I’ve been chatting with people from Element. The following plan sounds doable
_from a technical point of view_:

- "move" the gnome.org instance internally (on the Foundation infrastructure)
- have an EMS guest.gnome.org instance (EMS is the "hosted by Element" plan)
- close registrations on gnome.org
- ask all non foundation members to register on guest.gnome.org and telling
them there
- removing all non foundation members from gnome.org
- mapping the remaining people on gnome.org to an LDAP account

They also told me people from Mozilla have been very keen on the moderation
tools, yet are very happy with it. I’ll have a chat with them to see how it
works, and the amount of effort needed to moderate a community of this size.
