Hi, I have a general question about system messages in a GNOME desktop. Suppose I'm running my GNOME desktop (2.18) and root issues a "shutdown" command via ssh or something else. In a virtual console, I get warnings every so often that the system will be "shutting down". Are these warnings visible on the desktop? Thanks for comments.
