Hi Joachim, I'm a gnome newbie just as you

I don't know anything about that gnome-hello module but you can
compile modules from gnome-cvs with jhbuild[1], including
gnome-terminal.

jhbuild is actually very easy too use, just check it out from cvs and
read the README file.
