Great, it was my first idea to add it to NetworkManager but it was easier to
start from scratch so I've done an applet :-)

Adding it to NetworkManager would be better for everyone but I'm not sure
that's the goal of NetworkManager, every portal has a different way to get
username and password, a user is asking for support of popup windows for
example...

Anyway, I would be happy to help :-)

Antoine.

P.S. : anyone interested should have a look at
http://antoine.mairesse.free.fr/autologin-applet/ it have been greatly
improved and there's also a debian/ubuntu package now :-)

Hi Antoine,

I recently filed a bug to NetworkManager about the possibility to
perform this kind of authentification automatically.
See http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379523

Your experience could be useful for that bug. :)
