Hi, 

Try to modify the CPU governor scheme. It can be done via echo-ing to the 
following file: 
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor 
If you have more cpu-s, you have to use cpu0, cpu1, etc. 

The available options are: 
performance, ondemand, powersave 

To set CPU to powersave, simply do the following: 
echo powersave > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
