Package: gnome-nettool Version: 3.2.0-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
When attempting to use Ping, having installed iputils-ping, I got the following message: An error occurred when try to run 'Ping' /bin/ping ping -b -c 5 -n www.google.com It seems that the tool adds an extra word (ping) rendering the ping functionality unusable. This problem has also been reported in Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-nettool/+bug/1011367 A proper resolution should also consider the bug #639158 : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=639158 -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers quantal-updates APT policy: (500, 'quantal-updates'), (500, 'quantal-security'), (500, 'quantal'), (100, 'quantal-backports') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.5.0-23-generic (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=el_GR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=el_GR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gnome-nettool depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.14.1-0ubuntu0.1 ii dnsutils 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-4.2ubuntu3.1 ii finger 0.17-15 ii iputils-ping [ping] 3:20101006-3ubuntu1 ii iputils-tracepath 3:20101006-3ubuntu1 ii libc6 2.15-0ubuntu20 ii libcairo2 1.12.2-1ubuntu2.2 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.26.4-0ubuntu1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.34.1-1ubuntu1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.6.0-0ubuntu3.2 ii libgtop2-7 2.28.4-3 ii libpango1.0-0 1.30.1-0ubuntu3 ii net-tools 1.60-24.1ubuntu3 ii nmap 6.00-0.1 ii whois 5.0.19 gnome-nettool recommends no packages.
