As the Shell is structured right now running windows does not at all show up
on search queries.
This is something that could work out well if changed. If it were so that
when you searched for Firefox, the first entry would be Firefox the
webbrowser because it is currently running and not firefox settings entries
alike. When hit with either the keyboard or the mouse all windows of Firefox
should then show up side by side and you would be able to navigate trough
them with either the mouse or keyboard. If only one Firefox window is open,
then that window should become the active and the user would be put out of
the activities field back to Firefox's workspace.
