I think if we drop the minimize button we can use the empty place.
The minimize  button seems to be useless without taskbar, we just need a
icon to return to an empty desktop somewhere.

With a little menu like I made, we can display a few desktop and one button
to maintain application on top.
We can easily display 5 or 6  desktop, If you need more, I think is more
efficient to use the overview.
