This bug affects me with every assistant on my system, including those in Anjuta, Evolution and my own applications I made with Glade.
I am running Ubuntu Natty 11.04 . The "trick" with the alt key refresh the display. The issue appears randomly on any page of an assistant, removing some or every part of the assistant.
