Any Idea why? > what theme are you using? Run gnome-tweak-tool from the PPA to check. Most of the themes there are GTK2, so any GNOME3 app will use the default one, which looks a lot like GTK1. What if you select Adwaita as the theme in gnome-tweak-tool?
