The patch was incomplete. My autotools fu let me down :(
Changes had to be made to both src/Makefile.{am,in}, since our build
process only starts from the configure step.
Here's the new patch, that fixes the build.

(If you make the change in Makefile.am and run autoreconf to regenerate
Makefile.in, it should still be okay.)
