Well, in my case I use a lot of apps simultaneously and when some of
them runs with GTK3 while some of them uses GTK2, it's excessively for
my desktop (and looks ugly if using GTK2 only themes, because GTK3 less
ported for xfce for example).
So GTK2 only version would be a clean and lightweight solution!
