Canonical Ltd. is pleased to announce that the existing repository migration service at http://arch.ubuntu.com will be going through a migration of its own. These Bazaar migrations (also known as "imports"), which are currently in Bazaar 1.4.2 format, will be replaced with branches in the new Bazaar-NG format on January 31, 2006.
On this same date, the supermirror sponsored by Canonical will also undergo a shift to Supermirror-NG. This new supermirror will provide support for Bazaar-NG that will not only meet, but exceed, capabilities of the current Supermirror. The existing supermirror will continue on in a deprecated fashion to provide access to third party archives.
