texinfo is good for annoying everybody. I think that's about it. It's almost universally reviled. Users hate it, non-GNU developers hate it, vendors hate it.
Uh, texinfo is probobly the nicest of all the documentation formating tools out there for non-math (where TeX rules), technical manuals More people hate Docbook than texinfo, since you cannot even convert docbook into info pages.
