Maybe it shouldn't; but clearly it would be useful in
piping output to other programs.
So, yeah, maybe. `tree-lint' is kind of overloaded in its functionality.
On the one hand, it's a "report generator" that tries to print out
something for human consumption. It's appropriate in that case
to have the extra output on stdout. On the other hand, it also (with
options given) generates output structured for pipelines. It can be
a little confusing.
