Additionally I was astonished that there is still an issue with
ghostscript, according to

As mentioned previously, Adobe has freed the files, thanks primarily to
Ken Lunde. Some of them have also been updated. See latest posting at
http://forums.adobe.com/community/opensource/cmap and downloads at
http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/cmap/Downloads.
The "pdfmapping" resources
(http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/pdfmapping/Downloads) were
also freed, though they are not part of gs.
Unless there are objections, I'll update the wiki entry along those
lines.
