== Being a Good Neighbor == The FSDG work-group is established for the purpose of discussion about freedom, privacy, and other FSDG-related concerns regarding the software distributed by FSDG-endorsed distros, collaborative auditing of certain software which may exhibit those concerns, and the interpretation and implications of the FSDG itself.
It is strongly recommended that at least one person, in close communication with the core maintainers of each distro, should read, and ideally participate in, the discussions on the FSDG work-group mailing list. It is a relatively low-volume mailing list; and we assume that each distro will remain genuinely interested in the discussions, especially as the endorsement of the distro will be perpetually contingent upon the distro's willingness to address emerging problems. If some software is found to have FSDG-related problems, or if important suspicions are expressed to, or by the distro maintainers, the FSDG work-group should be consulted, for the benefit of all endorsed distros. Everyone in the work-group is a volunteer; and no one is expected to open bug reports against every distro, nor to prepare general bulletins, whenever a shared concern arises. The FSDG work-group mailing list is the central clearinghouse for common issues. Most of the problems and suspicions will usually be of concern to the wider community, applicable to all endorsed distros, and can be resolved most quickly and effectively for all, through collaboration.
