Eben Moglen on Free Software and Free Media Professor Moglen is currently a Professor of Law and Legal History at Columbia Law School as well as the General Counsel for the Free Software Foundation. "Free software puts in the hands of users the rules about packet distribution in the devices and networks that the software powers. That means free software plays a smaller or larger role in the determination of media concentration, according as users have more or less control over the network that envelopes their lives. Media concentrators know this to be true, and are adversaries of free software. I will describe how we will fight back, and win."
