It hasn't. But just as in any other case of copyright
infringement, the authors have the exclusive right to
control copying and distribution, and can demand that
infringement be brought to a halt.

Authors who distribute under the GPL have already done
their part to create more free software. Stopping code
grabbers from using their work in non-free products is
the second part - if the grabbers won't produce free
software, they will at least be forced to pay for non-
free replacements.
