Happy new year, followers of the faith. Does GNU proffer an official statement regarding "best efforts" adoption of its "live free or die" moral stance? Something along the lines of, "We denounce and eschew proprietary software until it becomes too impractical."
I'll apply the benefit of the doubt that the tens or so readers of gnu.misc.discuss have forsworn Google.com searches and bourgeois conveniences like Amazon.com. I'll even presume the true believers have fabricated their own motherboards to avoid chipmakers' firmware. But their evasion of closed source can't be perfect ipso facto their being able to read this very email message whose non-deterministic network hops must have included a router running classified code.
