Hi,
I am discovering LilyPond - it looks great! It certainly seems to
fulfill a need of my musical organisation (we rediscover baroque music
from forgotten chapel masters in Provence - I can speak about that for
hours if anybody is interested ;-| )
However... I fairly often have to change clefs in the middle of a staff,
e.g., because the basso continuo part switches from doubling the vocal
bass part to the tenor, and because that is how the manuscript is
written. (We try to keep as close as possible to the original manuscript
- I appreciate the variety of clefs, by the way; we use almost all of
them.) Is is possible to do that with LilyPond? If so, how?
Also, we fairly often change time signatures - e.g., from 3/4 to 2/2 or
vice-versa - within the same line. I am sure that this happens at least
as frequently in more recent music. Same question :-)
And it also happens that one modulates so clearly that the composer
actually changes the key signature right in the middle of a line, if not
within a bar. Again...
There are other questions that arise if one wants to mimic as closely as
possible old manuscripts, but enough for today.
Anyway, thanks to the authors of LilyPond for a great job!
