Concerning Chaplik it's wrong. If two notes which share the stem are
in conflict then the _lower note_ is left of the stem.

You can find a lot examples for this case on page 2 of
ftp://ftp.gmd.de/music/scores/irsen/bflkl.ps esp. in the last line
e.g. in bars 19, 21, 22, ... (It's a modern sonata for Sopranblockfl�te
und Klavier).
