This is probably the best solution. Anyway chordnames should better be
configurable - people get used to a particular notation. If I see a small
letter a, the fingers of my left hand automatically finger a minor a. If I
see Am, I need some time to translate that.

Perhaps we could some of the more usual naming schemes 'builtin' (in an
init file) to select among them in a one-liner in the actual .ly file.
If I want to typeset a score from someone with other naming preferences I
would simply have to edit that one line in the file.
