Relax. There will be some level of configurability in one of the upcoming
patchlevels. Wait and see. In fact, I already un-hardcoded the two chord
names you complain about; they're now a default configurable option. I'll
think again about that default, now.

But, thanks for reminding me what an utter mess these chord names are,
esp. if you're not familiar with them (speaking for myself). It tells
me again, that I should stay far from implementing anything but strict
Banter (see bibliography) style chord names. No-one seems to agree on
anything much beyond the C major chord.
To stress my point, I've two references that don't agree with you, and
don't agree with eachother:
* Banter says <c es ges beses>, Co or Cdiminished. (<c es ges a> is
called Cm5-.6)
* We recently had this request (it was in the TODO, we even received
a preliminary patch that we had to reject):
The triad is a root with a flat third and flat fifth, and is notated
(at least in America, someone else will have to fill me in on other
countries) as (using C as the root) Cdim, or Co. The diminished
seventh has a root with a flat third, flat fifth, and a doubly
flatted seventh (which is enharmonically equivalent to a sixth, and
from which comes tons of confusion). It is usually notated as
(again, using C as the root) Cdim7 or Co7.
For chords like Cmaj7 and Cdim7, Banter lists 10-15 alternative names.
