Dear Jeff,

I am a writer for Wide Open News (www.wideopen.com), an online
publication for the open source community. I came across your email in a
threaded discussion on LilyPond. Could you tell me a little bit more
about the LilyPond project? I'm interested in writing a story about it.

How does it work exactly? I read the tutorial and it seems you use a
specific programming language to output sheet music.

What makes LilyPond differ from other music notation programs currently
available? I notice Midisoft and Coda Music offer programs to create
sheet music, but they seem to be aimed at the non-programmer. Does
LilyPond offer benefits these prepackaged consumer programs don't?

Why are you a believer in the LilyPond project?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Best regards,

Anne Speedie
