Not necessarily. In the baroque times, everybody could read
the breve and longa rest symbols so the number of bars was
almost never written out except for rests longer than, say,
6 or 8 bars. Nowadays, the number is ofter written also over
a breve rest. My idea was to set the maximum number of bars
that shouldn't get any number.
