Not that I know of. I usually comment out a section
of the music using %{ and %}. The problem of just
typesetting a few bars is that the result will
be very dependant on the context. The relative
octaves of the music, key, meter and clef changes
would all cause problems. Maybe the best way to
implement your wish is to process the whole file
as usual, except for the positioning and back-end
wich is only run on the desired bars.
