lilypond doesn't find TeX-fonts any more

I have moved (within tetex 1.0) the normal TeX fonts to a local tree. Of
course, I did the texhash. TeX and friends are working perfectly, but
now lilypond complains quite early about not being able to find font
cmr8.

So my question:
   How and where is lilypond searching its fonts? The kpse-commands
give       the right places.
