Couple of stupid questions....

Greetings.

I use to be a decent programmer.... Several years ago.  Time went away,
and not I am trying to learn again.  Basically I am looking for
something small I can do on an opensource project so I can learn a bit
more without continuing with writing hello world in 90 different ways.

If anyone needs any help from a newbie, I'll be happy to help.
