The big goals for 1.4 were
* to have Scheme integration
* "no more ugly C++ code".
* Mutopia directory moved to the mutopia archive.
The status now:
Scheme integration is there since early 1.3
We have fixed most of the ugly code: slur, tie, crescendo, beam,
stem. We still have to do tremolo (which does some gory things on the
input side)
The mutopia/ directory is still filled with lots of music.
After we have finished the rewrite (maybe in a month or so), we'll
concentrate on fixing bugs, updating the documentation and adding
"small" features. I can't give you any release date, but I want it to
be out before August, 1. May, 1 for example is a nice date. There is
a big caveat, though: I never get these things finished in time, so I
have no idea how long it will really take.
It also depends on how much input of the community we get: more
detailed bugreports help us work faster. And keep in mind, your
favorite feature might be in my TODO list, but it will only be on my
*mind* if you keep mailing, whining and begging to me about it.
Finally, I'd wish someone else would work on the documentation
again. It's one of the most difficult things to write for me, as I
already know how everything works.
