I know I've said this many times before, so forgive me if you've already
taken this into consideration, but certain things in chord symbols shouldn't
be superscripted. Like the Cmaj7, C2, Co7 (although the *circle* by itself
is an exception is this case), Cmaj7(b5), Cm(maj)7, Cm7, C7, and all the
ninth chords... Will there be a mechanism in the chord customization that
will allow the user to customize whether or not a symbol is superscripted?
If not, then there should be! At this point, it looks like it wouldn't be
too much trouble to create a file (much like english.ly) to hold all of the
differences between chord notation in different countries (again, I'm
thinking of superscripts in chord symbols as well as other minor
differences). BTW, lily is still insisting on showing the Cadd9 as a C9/no7
(but I noticed that you commented that one out)...

Again, you're doing a great job--lily has come a long way towards usability
for people like me who do lead sheets! Thanks!
