Hello. I was wondering if there was any way to make lily output
measures that are the same width, with each note taking up space
corresponding the its duration. If not, it would be nice if this
feature could be implemented.
Essentially, I would like it to format like this:
| | | | |
|h qq|qqqq|h h |w |
| | | | |
rather than this:
| | | | |
|hqq|qqqq|hh|w|
| | | | |
I understand that this isn't always what you want, but there are two
situations where it would be very nice.
One is when I'm in the middle of composing a piece, it is easier to add
notes by hand to an evenly spaced score. Actually, for this reason I
end up not inputting into the computer until I'm pretty much done, as
the output from the computer is hard to write on.
The other is for simple pieces that have internal structure. If a piece
is made up of four bar phrases with interesting relationships between
the phrases, it would be nice to have the bars all line up so you could
more easily see how the two phrases differ.
Thanks for the great work on lily!
