I too managed to compile the glossary - as it comes with the .60
distribution. Somehow my my "own" source must have been corrupted. I'll
take the .60 glossary source as my master source.
But after having compiled the glossary I found that now a \longa (items
'longa' and 'note value') results in an "empty" note symbol.
