Thanks for your message... I'm sorry for the delay, but I've been
trying to get lilypond to compile with debugging symbols --- the
default does not seem to be to have symbols. I recompiled it after a
gmake clean, ./configure --enable-debugging, but that does not seem to
work either. However, the problem persists:

The version of Guile is 1.3.4.
