If you look at the output of input/test/clefs.ly in 1.3.110, you will
see:

        The input:

                 \clef "treble"; c'1^"{treble}" \bar "||";
                 \clef "french";c'1^"{french}" \bar "||";

        puts the double bar after the french violin clef sign, rather
        than before it as the na�ve user (me) would expect.

        The input:
        
                \property Staff.clefStyle="fullSizeChanges"
                 \clef "treble"; c'1^"clefStyle=\"fullSizeChanges\"" \bar "|.";

        doesn't cause a treble clef to appear at all.
