The name /stow has no relation to the directory's usage (except for the negligible few who happen to know what GNU stow does), so it is no better than /pantry or /zoo for this purpose. It is a bad choice.
I stronly disagree, stowing means putting something away in some place, this is also the meaning of `installation'. Pantry is for `stowing' away food in a small storeroom, and zoo for `stowing' animals in small cages. But not as a general word for storing something in some manner. Maybe the word `stow' is more familiar to those who speak the British dialect of English. So much discussion for such a silly detail! _______________________________________________ gnu-system-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnu-system-discuss
