Well, I was trying out gnucash. I thought I'd try importing the quicken
data from my bank. This caused a crash. But I don't know how to tell
what version of quicken data, my bank gave me. It's Well's Fargo.
Anyone know if there are identifiers for versions?
Well, then I thought I'd try entering some data from my checkbook. I
was then stuck because I wanted to do double-entry. This meant that I
needed to create a list of accounts. The basic help menu gives a good
outline. I created this but it doesn't have a suggested plan for
Expenses and Incomes. Well, I thought about creating this as I went.
But then I realized that if I didn't have a scaffolding first, my
numbering of expense and income accounts would be a mess. Since this is
test data, this wouldn't be that big of deal. But I thought it would be
a good idea to have a suggested list.
So, since I don't have quicken, can't run it, and don't know if it would
be a good list anyway; can folks suggest a list?
Thanks,
Darren
