Hi,
I have downloaded and compiled xacc version 1.0.18 for Linux. This is
the first time that I have tried to load the software. I had several
problems that I think you should know about:
a) Compiling had an error finding os-inline.c I used the one that
came with Apache (symbolically linking to /usr/include) to get around
this. I think, though that this file is missing form the source tar for
xacc).
b) make install: Has the following error:
/usr/bin/install: Docs/*.jpg: No such file or directory
make: *** [install] Error 1
( I worked aorund this by verifying that there are no jpgs anyway,
and then looking for the rest of the install in the make file and
running it by hand. There is only the logos to do after this step
anyway.)
c) When I tried to run the xacc program, I got the following error:
exec: xacc-static.bin: not found
Okay, I admit it. Now I am stuck. This file simply doesn't exist
anywhere.
Apart from this, the program looks like it is a winner. My
congratulations to the developers who have obviously put in a lot of
hard work and have added real value to the OSS community by developing
what looks like a top quality accounting program. I look forward to a
stable version of GnuCash!
