On a Red Hat 5.2 system, I downloaded and installed the various RPMs
in the .../gnucash/redhat/i386 directory. When I installed the
gnucash package itself, I got this error message:

failed dependencies:
        libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1) is needed by gnucash-1.2.1-1
        libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by gnucash-1.2.1-1
        libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1) is needed by gnucash-1.2.1-1
        libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by gnucash-1.2.1-1

I tried forcing RPM to install the package anyway, but then when I ran
gnucash, it crashed when I created my second account.

I know *just enough* about libc/glibc to believe that (a) it should
have been installed on this system; (b) upgrading to the next version,
if I don't know what I'm doing, might break a helluva lot of other
programs. So I want to ask people with actual clues what my next step
should be.
