Do you think it might be worthwhile to require an extra string as a
registration parameter? The string would be used to describe
something about who's registering the pointer and/or why and would be
stored in the value in the hash "(cons description ptr)". The
expectation is that this should make it much easier to track code
that's not unregistering things. We could also use macros later to
completely "compile out" the parameter when you're not debugging. I'm
not sure this is worth doing, but I thought I'd bring it up for
discussion before we get a lot of code using the interface.
