I don't believe so. The Gnome libraries, as Heath mentioned,
already contain routines for saving preferences information.
They're not hard to use, but, of course, they're only in
Gnome. Although, the format is text and would be easy to
parse.

So, the question is, do we use the gnome preferences stuff
for Gnome-specific preferences, or do we use guile for
everything, with tags (as Rob suggested) for GUI-specific
items.
